Steves Lesson

 Today in Steves class we discussed planning and production, this means to demonstrate the ability to plan, organise and develop an art and design project. We planned example shoots one fashion shoot with colourful clothes and one Landscape in Brighton beach.

For the first one, the fashion shoot with colourful clothes we came up with as following;

  • to find one or more models, figure what days they can do together or separately
  • find out what days the studio is free and make sure the models or model is free on that day
  • find the clothes, maybe from a charity store or from a family member or even yoyr own closet.
  • Make sure each model has more than one outfit just in case one doesn't mix with the theme or background
  • find a background available in the studio that contrasts well with the chosen outfits
  • possibly get a new memory card to put the photos in
  • what lighting set up works? I would use high key for this to really show off the clothes
  • contingency plan. this is a professional way of saying backup plan
  • show your e mails between models/ messages screenshots
  • hair and makeup!
For the second one, Landscapes from Brighton beach;
  • what equipment will you need? maybe bring a bag filled with both macro and usual lenses just in case
  • find a day which suits you and also has good lighting and weather to achieve the best shots
  • find a good spot, maybe go another day before to find a new spot and take a few test shots
  • google maps to get a good feel of the place especially if you haven't visited before

These are the original notes from the day:

This was helpful for me especially because I plan to do a colourful fashion shoot for my FMP!
I also now have a day in which I can take the shots it is Wednesday 16th of may, I hope the studio is free because my model can do the specific date however i may shoot a different one on another date too.
